Construction:
Postman brought my new macro lens to its new home, and the first feeling about the lens without the lens hood was that this IS a small lens! And really, this Sigma 150mm macro lens without the lens hood is surprisingly small lens (Picture 1.)! I thought it would be bigger! And even if you put the lens hood on, it didn't become a monstrous. Really handy and cute little lens (Pictures 2. & 3.)!

Lens' surface is coated with that well-known black matte Sigma EX coating. I have seen Sigma EX lenses with broken coating... coating like cracks off. But my lens is quite much used, and all the coatings are ok! The look of the coating easily becomes very used. If you scratch the surface with you fingernail, there will be an easily seen mark in the coating. Coating is like mild sandpaper, so it gather stuff in it... but it can be cleaned easily even with wiping with your finger. Nice non-reflecting lens surface coating after all.

This Bugzilla is an Inner Focus (IF) lens, so it's not change its lenght when focusing. That also means that lens shorten its focal lenght when focusing close distances. On the left side of the lens is a focus limiter panel. The limiter is a three position switch, with these positions : FULL , 0.52m to infinity and 0.38m to 0.52m.

When examining the lens little more, you find a detachable tripod collar (Weight 141g). You have to twist and pull the knob before the upper side of the tripod collar opens, and you can lift your lens away from the tripod collar (Picture 4.). Tripod collar like this is quite handy, because you don't have to detach your lens from the camera to get the tripod collar away. But there are also negative things in this tripod collar. The knob of the tripod collar is really big and protruding (Picture 5.)! Lens need much more space in camerabag when the tripod collar is attached... it is really difficult to fit in to some camerabags.
